  28. Usually when sequencing a song with Korg i3 I don't want that the 
  29. results are only usable for KORG i keyboards. Therefore most of my work
  30. is done with General Midi set only and are saved as a midi file at
  31. completion.

  33. But even the i3 midi file is very much depending on KORG i3.
  34. It contains a KORG-i exclusive midi message that keeps all settings
  35. that were used in song mode. Thats ok, but KORG missed to duplicate
  36. some important track settings as usual midi events:
  37.   they forgot:
  38.     reverb
  39.     chorus
  40.     volume
  41.     pan/balance
  42.     
  43. if someone would use the key range features of song tracks and save
  44. it to midi, the midi file would also play the notes that are outside
  45. of the key window, when not using KORG-i that supports key window.
  46.  
  47. This makes it difficult to use the midi file with other keyboards or
  48. soundcards. The midi might sound aweful even with excellent sound
  49. generators. It needs to be edited with additional software.

  51. It is also peculiar that while playing in song mode (not necessarily
  52. recording) no midi events but midi clock are sent to midi interface.
  53. There seems to be no way to record or transfer a song as midi from
  54. keyboard to computer through midi interface. The opposite direction
  55. works well.

  57. Recording with midi interface works in arrangement mode and bseq mode 
  58. but also here KORG hasn't supported it perfectly:
  59. The start configuration (programs, parameters) is not transmitted,
  60. so when recording I get a midi file containing all notes but all
  61. midi channels have default settings (Piano).
  62. With a trick most of them are sent: Choose any other arrangement/BSEQ,
  63. start recording, change arrangement/BSEQ and start playing.
  64. This transmits all settings (might cause recording synchronizing
  65. problems when changing settings) except those of the KBD1/KBD2.
  66. I need to edit the midi file to insert these missing settings.

  68. Please tell me if you have made better experiences with KORG's midi
  69. support.
